Darkflow Software ran a test server for Enlisted's upcoming "Off-road Patrol" update from September 11 to September 14, giving players an early look at eight new vehicles arriving across all four campaigns. The update introduces a distinct off-road vehicle category, alongside new weapons, melee animation overhauls, and balance adjustments aimed at light reconnaissance play. An official release date for the live servers has not yet been announced.
The headline addition is the off-road vehicle slot itself, which shares squad limits with motorcycles and lets these light vehicles carry grenade boxes into battle. Each of the four nations gets two entries: the USSR receives the GAZ-64 with a DS-39 machine gun and a premium P-39Q-15, Germany gets the Kubelwagen 82 and a twin-mounted Kubelwagen 82 Zwillingssockel variant, Japan adds the Type 95 Kurogane alongside the G4M1, and the USA rounds things out with the Willys M1919A4 and a premium Willys Bazooka. To encourage squads to actually field them, off-road and motorcycle squads will get a 50% experience bonus and cost 50% fewer reinforcement tickets to spawn, a notable incentive shift for a game where reinforcement economy usually dictates squad composition.
Weapon additions are lighter this cycle but still notable: the Lewis Gun Home Guard arrives as a researchable BR IV option for the USA, while Japan gets the IJN 80mm AT as a premium BR II weapon. Darkflow also used the update to rework recoil control on several automatic rifles, cutting it from 75% down to 60%, and adjusted the FN Model 1930's rate of fire and recoil profile — changes that should nudge the automatic-rifle meta that's dominated close-range engagements in recent seasons.
Beyond vehicles and guns, the update carries a broader animation pass. Bayonet charge attacks, general melee strikes, knife mechanics, and sniper rifle handling animations have all been reworked, and new buttstock and fist-attack animations join the mix. Camera shake while climbing ladders has also been toned down, a small but frequently requested quality-of-life fix.
For players, the practical effect is a shift toward faster, more mobile squad compositions once the update lands — the reinforcement-cost discount alone makes off-road and motorcycle squads considerably cheaper to run than standard infantry lineups, and reconnaissance-focused play may see a real boost. Separately, Enlisted's operators flagged an issue between September 19 and 21 where some completed battles failed to register, denying rewards to affected players; a fix has since been implemented. Darkflow has not confirmed whether "Off-road Patrol" will ship before or after further testing rounds, so players should watch official channels for the full patch notes and live-server date.
